Life in Oregon: Beautiful Oregon Coast

There are over 20places along the Oregon west coast where you can choose from to enjoy your beach vacations. Some of the more popular one are Astoria, Cannon Beach, Tillammok Bay, Newport, Florence, Lakeside and Gold Beach. We picked one that is closest to our location as a start -Tillamook Bay.
We first drive up to the Cape Mears where there is a lighthouse and the viewing points looking towards pacific Ocean. It was awesome and the weather is so good, and so cool. From the parking where the light house is, visitor can actually can take the three miles of hiking trails, around the Cape Meares State Scenic Viewpoint. We managed to take some nice photo around this area and the Octopus Tree, a large, multi-trunked Stika Spruce with a trunk circumference of about 50 feet. After that, we headed for lunch at the Pirate's Cove Restaurant near Garibaldi where we tried the famous Oregon Dungeness Crab. When we first saw the dish, we were like, oh my gosh, this is huge! But after taking off the shell, it look different totally :) Anyway, i still prefer snow crab over the Dungeness crab because it's meat was not that sweat compare to snow crab although the body really got a lot of meat. Well, at least i have tried!
After the lunch, we went to the famous Tillamook Cheese Factory for a visit. They design the factory such a way that visitors can view the production floor from outside of the class wall. Unfortunately when were there, not much line is working and we just manage to see the packaging line. They have all sort of cheese sample for guests to try it out and they sell their famous ice cream there too. We try the vanilla bean's flavor and it was so yummy. And that's all for our one day trip!
